The employees released a scathing resignation letter 🤯

Elon Musk has come under fire by posting his version of events after more than 20 civil service employees resigned from the Department of Government Efficiency, otherwise known a DOGE, in a single day.

The newly established DOGE, with Elon Musk at its head, has dominated much of the first month of Donald Trump’s return to US presidency, as it has been the driving force behind many of the high-profile federal cuts that have been made.

Having initially pledged a staggering figure of $2,000,000,000,000 to be cut from the federal budget, Musk’s DOGE has targeted a number of key US government departments in an effort to ‘save’ money by any means and make the country more ‘efficient’.

This has affected departments such as Veteran Affairs, Defense, Health, and Human Services, alongside National Parks which have been the site of protests in recent days.

While Musk recently was criticized for sending a potentially illegal government-wide email asking over 100,000 federal employees to explain what they did in the last week or risk being fired, he’s been on the receiving end of resignations within his own camp.

Over 20 civil service staff that were redeployed to the Department of Government Efficiency all resigned on the same day, releasing a letter explaining their actions to the public.

“We swore to serve the American people and uphold our oath to the Constitution across presidential administrations,” the letter reads. “However, it has become clear that we can no longer honor those commitments.”

Much has been said about Elon Musk’s relatively young DOGE workforce, which include ‘prodigy’ Luke Farritor, and Musk himself revealed that key staff within the advisory agency have been working 120-hour weeks across all seven days, to the point where they require sleep pods within the office.

Musk, however, pushed back against the mass resignation, offering a ‘brutal’ response on X to the news:

“More fake news from Associated Propaganda,” Musk claimed in reply to a post from The Associated Press. “These were Dem political holdovers who refused to return to the office. They would have been fired had they not resigned.”

While it is true that many of those that resigned joined the government during the Obama administration, Musk’s statement doesn’t address the nature of their resignation and what it means for staffers that likely continued to work throughout Trump’s first term as president.

This has led to major backlash on social media, with one user breaking down the issues with Musk’s ‘fiery’ statement:

“1: Cries fake news but doesn’t disprove any claims (does not deny their resignation or their reasoning). 2: Claims his own department had holdovers when it was created recently. 3: Reinforces that it’s not fake by confirming that they quit.”

Another added: “That’s called resigning. See, cause they resigned against your dumb policy, and in protest to what you said, they don’t want to work for you, so they resigned.”

Given the gung-ho nature of DOGE’s cuts already some are questioning why, if Musk’s claims that they would have been ‘fired anyway’, this hadn’t already happened.

“Unless it fits your narrative, you lie,” argues one reply. “‘Dem political holdovers’ & ‘would have been fired’. You have no authority and you’re the captain of a sinking ship.”

While White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt has dismissed concerns over the mass resignation, claiming that anyone who thinks that this would bother Trump has been “sleeping under a rock,” it does raise worries among many that Musk is ‘losing control’ of his governmental pet project.

Elon Musk has once again spoken out against skits involving his White House antics on late night TV, as a Daily Show ‘Tesla Auto Mall’ video has drawn a ‘brutal’ response from the car company’s CEO on X.

You begin to lose count of the people that Elon Musk has clashed with on X in the past few months alone, as he’s had fiery spats with everyone from horror icon Stephen King to Mike Myers and SNL.

He’s certainly giving these detractors plenty of ammunition to play with due to his new high profile role in American politics at the right hand of US President Donald Trump, and it’s once again not taken much to strike the nerve of the richest man in the world.

Following a bizarre publicity stunt that saw President Trump promoting Tesla outside of the White House alongside it’s CEO and ‘founder’ Musk, Jon Stewart’s The Daily Show decided to produce a satirical advert depicting the White House as an ‘auto mall’.

It’ll instantly make you recall trashy adverts for dodgy used car dealerships, with Trump’s breakdown of the electric vehicle’s qualities at the heart of it all.

“So don’t waste your time going to those other Tesla dealerships with riots and flaming Cybertrucks, you’ve gotta come down to White House Tesla Auto Mall,” the skit ends.

Naturally it caught the attention of Musk after being posted to his own social media platform, to which he offered his own five word response:

“Thanks for helping sell Teslas!! [laughing emoji]” Musk joked, but if recent reports of a sales decline and significant stock market losses are anything to consider, he might well need all the help he can get.

He’s certainly getting that from the President though, as The Daily Show’s sketch – like Myers’ portrayal of Musk – isn’t too far from the truth.

Trump’s appearance alongside a MAGA-esque red Tesla was nothing short of an advertisement, as he claimed that he’s buying a ‘brand new Tesla’ despite the fact that he’s not actually allowed to drive one himself.

On top of this, President Trump indicated that anyone who ‘messes with’ Tesla will be put ‘through hell’ after outlining that people targeting Tesla dealerships will be treated as ‘domestic terrorists’.

You don’t need to look back too far to see a wildly different stance from Trump on the rise of electric vehicles, as resurfaced comments show that he believed they were ‘destroying our once great USA’ and should ‘rot in hell’.

Close affiliation with Musk appears to have cured this distaste for EVs despite once claiming that they were “the idea of the Radical Left Fascists, Marxists, & Communists,” much like his opinion shift on Musk himself.

Elon Musk has posted a clip from his recent Joe Rogan Experience appearance, using it as proof as to ‘why the democrats want to destroy him’, leaving him under fire for this ‘delusional’ explanation.

It is within the last year especially that Elon Musk has become one of the leading right wing voices, and his promotion to one of the most powerful positions in President Trump’s administration only extends his reach.

His role as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has seen him slash spending from countless key federal departments, including some ‘accidental’ cuts that have led to embarrassing rehiring initiatives and national security breaches.

Amongst all this he has been consistently preaching about how the Biden administration and Democratic party as a whole are ‘against’ him, using in particular the delayed return of two stranded astronauts as ammunition against the former government the he claims was ‘extremely antagonistic’ towards SpaceX and himself.

Within the same appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience, Musk discussed his theories of alleged voter fraud, indicating that the Democrats want to ‘destroy’ him, leading many to call these claims ‘delusional’.

Within the clip from the interview, Musk outlines two key allegations and how they will eventually lead, in his eyes, to complete Democrat control of the American government.

Firstly, he pushes the highly-disputed claim that ‘illegal aliens’ (non-US citizens) can vote in state and city elections, with New York being used as a specific example by Musk where he indicates that “there are currently 600,000 illegal aliens registered to vote” there.

This, as outlined by both BBC Verify and the Migration Policy Institute, is categorically false, as it is illegal for noncitizens to vote in these elections and to be registered you have to already be a US citizen, which in of itself is a lengthy (if not near impossible for some) process.

Additionally, Musk also purports that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is housing illegal immigrants in “luxury hotels” in New York, which has also been proven as a false claim by Politifact.

While FEMA is indeed managing the money that is providing temporary housing for migrants, the money itself is from Customs and Border protection funding, and they are not staying in ‘luxury’ hotel rooms – instead those below the General Services Administration rate at $156 per night.

“The more you look at it, the more you will realize just how much of a problem this is,” Musk argues in reference to his illegal immigration claims, “and how it’s not just real, it is an attempt to destroy democracy in America.”

Later on in the clip he also indicates that illegal immigration issues, which he claims will turn “the house, judiciary, senate, and presidency, all blue,” are why he “went so hardcore for Trump,” adding “that’s why the Democrat machine is so intent on destroying me.”

Many have called these claims made by Musk ‘delusional’, with one reply in particular ripping into the richest man in the world:

“The delusion of a billionaire,” the reply states. “You lie and insult everyone around you. You insult entire countries. You think that’s ok? Get a grip.”

One quote added that “no one voted for this guy and he is destroying everything,” whereas another points out: “I count at least 12 times, he just blatantly lies. Maybe that’s why people hate you. It’s because you are a lying piece of s*** coward.”

Astonishing moment representative erupts during DOGE hearing as he brutally calls out Elon Musk

The rant came after Musk skipped the hearing

One Democratic representative began an incensed rant against Elon Musk during a DOGE hearing, brutally calling out it’s leader Elon Musk in an eruption of rage.

Elon Musk‘s movement into government has been controversial to say the least, as the richest man was awarded a position as head of the newly created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and tasked with cutting significant spending from the federal budget.

In the several months since Musk began this new role the Department has reportedly already saved around $115,000,000,000 – a figure which has been heavily disputed by experts – in efforts that have hit many of key areas of government, including Education, Labor, Health, and more.

Job cuts have become a particular focus for Musk and his team, as an email threatening the roles of 100,000 civil service employees has been backed up by government-wide firings, which have also led to mass rehires after key individuals were ‘accidentally’ let go.

One of the DOGE’s most notable actions came in it’s first few weeks though, as employees gained access to social security and treasury information in a seemingly unprecedented move.

This received heavy criticism from Democratic representatives, and led to a hearing where members debated DOGE’s ability to access these records, and one veteran representative was particularly ferocious in their criticism for Musk.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Rep. John Larson (D-CT) argued that House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith neglected his responsibilities when overseeing DOGE’s ability to access Social Security records and implement reform.

“Where’s the independence of the committee? Where’s the legislature?” remarked an enraged Larson.

“And yet when you look at the empty seats here, where’s Elon Musk? I’m sure he’s a genius, and is a very incredible person because of the wealth he’s accumulated, but that does not put him above the law or the responsibility to come before this committee and this congress.

“If he’s so great, if these plans and all the fraud and abuse that he’s found are so eminent, why isn’t he here explaining it? You know why, because he’s out to privatize social security.”

This brutal rant against Trump came after Chairman Smith accused the Democrats of attempting to “throw sand in the gears of the Trump Administration’s important work to expose the waste, fraud, and abuse in our government,” which Larson indicated was just ‘blathering’.

Many on social media have sided with Larson following his tirade as well, with one reply writing: “Everyone knows that Musk is the biggest liar on this platform. You can even ask Grok, his own person AI on this very platform. It will tell you that he spreads most of the disinformation on this site.”

This is in fact hilariously true, as not only has Grok accused its ‘creator’ of spreading misinformation, but it’s also acted as a fact-checker, denying his false claims that include the Biden administration’s supposed slaughter of 150 million chickens.

Jon Stewart issues savage response after Elon Musk said he’d come on The Daily Show under one condition

Stewart told the tech billionaire to drop the pretense

The Daily Show has seen the likes of Jimmy Carter, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden all get grilled, but while current President of the United States Donald Trump is yet to sit in the chair opposite Jon Stewart, his name is never far from the lips of the late-night talk show.

Even though Elon Musk is another who has avoided Stewart’s glare, his position as a “special government employee” and the head of the Department of Government Efficiency makes him a popular request.

Even though Musk is happy to chew the fat about Fort Knox conspiracy theories with Joe Rogan, he seems a little more reluctant to appear on The Daily Show.

Stewart has given Musk his own ultimatum (Paramount+)Stewart has given Musk his own ultimatum (Paramount+)

Stewart has given Musk his own ultimatum (Paramount+)

This whole saga started when Stewart tore into the Department of Government Efficiency and its attempts to slash $2 trillion from government spending. The Daily Show host ranted about the DOGE and suggested that we should take profits from Big Pharma, then went on to smash a coffee cup and unexpectedly cut his hand.

In the aftermath of Stewart taking down DOGE, Musk responded to one person’s request for him to go on the show and tell his side of the story.

The world’s richest man has just one condition, adding: “I will do it if the show airs unedited.”

The Daily Show seemingly has no problem with this, responding to this and saying it would love to have the tech mogul as a guest.

Stewart says he’s game to have Musk come onto the show and accept his caveat, continuing: “After thinking about his offer, I thought, ‘Hey, that’s actually how these in-studio interviews normally air.’ So, sure.”

Offering to ‘sweeten’ the pot, Stewart said it can be 15 minutes, an hour, two hours, or whatever, and joked: “I’ll be honest, I don’t think this network makes any other programming. So we can do whatever the f**k we want, as long as we wrap before the new season of South Park comes out.”

The tale took another twist when Stewart said he saw another post from Musk where he seemingly pulled back from the idea of appearing and said: “Jon is too set in his ways. He used to be more bipartisan.”

This clearly rattled Stewart, who continued to say: “The guy who custom-made his own Dark MAGA hat, that he wears to opine in the Oval Office with the president he spent $270 million to elect, thinks I’m just too partisan.

“Look, Elon. I do have some criticisms about DOGE… If you want to come on and talk about it on the show, great. If you don’t want to, sure.

“But can we just drop the pretense that you won’t do it because I don’t measure up to the standards of neutral discourse that you demand and display at all times? Because quite frankly, that’s bullsh*t.”

He concluded by succinctly saying, “You know it. I know it. Bullsh*t.”

If Musk and Stewart can settle their differences, it sounds like it could be an edition of The Daily Show for the ages.
